April 13 Elections,
The seat of the State Assembly Member from District 43 had four candidates that ran for the position.
There were 2 seats to fill for the Culver City City Council election. Four candidates ran in the election.
- The Culver City candidate forum facilitated by LWV Los Angeles received great press in local papers.
On March 16, 2010 the LWV Los Angeles facilitated a candidates forum for the City Council election in Culver City on April 13, 2010. In the article the LWV Los Angeles is mentioned as facilitating a "classy" forum. Click here for the full article which was written by thefrontpageonline.com.
The Culver City Observer describes the forum as refreshing.
The Los Angeles Wave newspaper also mentions the League's sponsorship of the forum as well.
This is an excellent example of how the LWV is dedicated to voter education and participation, thanks to all the members of the Culver City unit for your participation and representing the LWV of Los Angeles!
- LWV Los Angeles co-sponsored Voter Participation Training,
The LWV of Los Angeles co-sponsored a Voter Participation Training that was held on April 29, 2010. As the LWV has been a trusted non-partisan organization for 90 years it continues to play an integral role in educating the public about the democratic process in an unbiased manner.
